Owen, you have a natural ability to compose, and have done well to accurately emulate a County Rock style in your composition with appropriate use of instruments and chord progressions. Your structure is clear for the most part which is largely down to your choice of the above, however sometimes a little instrumental variation could be made to keep interest throughout. You now really need to add lyrics to ensure it is appropriate to the style, and to solidify the song's structure.
Peer feedback: - I like the structure of the piece because it is clear what it was doing especially when the guitar was changing volume to expose the chords. To improve you could add more instruments.
- The start could have been a little more interesting but as the drums were added it made it sound alot better and made it more enjoyable.
- I like the choice of instruments, the instrumental patterns and the structure of the song.
- It is clearly a Country Rock style - the instruments work with that well.
- I like the style and sound of the piece and it also had a good beat.
- I liked the style and sound of the piece and it was very soft. To improve you should make it not sound too similar the whole way through - change it up a bit.
- Good use guitar but needs lyrics.
- Sometimes a bit repetitive so needs vocals and perhaps some more instruments. Nice structure.
- I find this piece quite relaxing.
- Riff was nice and I liked the key changes. Lyrics would have really made it. Needed more chords and an extra riff to mix it up a bit.
- Very good beat, good guitar rhythm. You could improve by varying the instruments a bit.
- Really, really good, I especially like the electric guitar.
Thank you for the feedback, in my new improved piece I have added 2 more sections to break it up a bit and make the song less repetitive. The first section I added was a bass guitar with a slow drum beat which I used as my bridge to the next chorus. The second section was a quicker drum beat which added to the whole country theme, I played it with a guitar piece, which created a good harmony together. I am now adding another instrument which will be strings, I will play this at a fast pace in the background which will make the song sound a lot more like the old style of country rock music.
